The Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival, Louisianas oldest chartered
harvest festival, is seeking annual poster contest entries.
The contest is open to artists throughout the state and the winning design
will be used for the official 2005 poster.
A $500 award will be presented to the winning artist. Contest guidelines

Deadline for submission of design is Friday, May 13.
The Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival will be held on Labor Day
weekend, Sept. 1-5.
For several years the festival has been chosen as a Top 20 Event by the
Southeast Tourism Society; a Top 100 Event in North America by the
American Bus Association and as the Most Outstanding Festival in
Division 3 (attendance of 50,000-plus) by the Louisiana Association of
Fairs and Festivals for four consecutive years.
The event features the historic Blessing of the Fleet, the music stage,
the McDermott/BP Childrens Village, the Cajun Culinary Classic and the
spectacular fireworks on the river.
The festival also hosts many other family-oriented events during Labor Day
weekend and no admission is charged.
