True Man Posse: perhaps Lafayette only reggae band, definitely on of the
few reggae bands to incorporate Creole in their sound. 307 Downtown on
Jefferson.

• Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble: new sounds of zydeco grounded in the
traditional ways. Blue Moon, 215 E. Convent St.

Thursday

• The Object at the End of History, The Rah Rahs, The Wizards of Boat:
this show will likely be bitter sweet as Object plans on moving out of
Lafayette after this summer. This may be the last Louisiana show for the
instrumental heavy math rock band. Joining them is female-fronted garage
rockers The Rah Rahs and mystery men The Wizards of Boat. Renaissance, 425
Jefferson St.

• Cowboy Stew with Lil Buck Sinegal and C.C. Adcock: Lafayette legend
Sinegal joins future shock rocker Adcock for a set not to be missed. Blue
Moon.

Friday

• Liquidrone, MattRock & The Powerboxx: experimental sonic rockers
Liquidrone and ironic vintage pop rockers MR&PB. Renaissance.

•Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys: Grammy-nominated Cajun band known for
mixing contemporary and traditional music. 307 Downtown.

•C.C. Adcock & The Lafayette Marquis’; Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble: the
best groomed men in Lafayette rock (Adcock) and zydeco (Taylor) play Grant
Street Dancehall, 113 W. Grant St. Bring two women, cause they are
stealing one.

• Rudimental: funk, soul, R&B, Afrobeat jazz, gospel from Canada. Cite Des
Arts, 301 Vine St.

• Sarah Todora: young blues singer croons for the first time in 11 months.
Artmoshphere on Johnston.

Saturday

•Red Stick Ramblers: The Ramblers showcase their first release with Kevin
Wimmer on their second Memphis International record. Killer blend of
Cajun, gypsy jazz swing. 307 Downtown.

•Conjunto Accordion Workshop: Joel Guzman of Los Aztex gives a Louisiana
Folk Roots workshop on the accordion styles of Conjunto music. 4 p.m.
Louisiana Folk Roots Office at 118 W. Vermilion.

• Sonny Landreth, Michael Juan Nunez: Acadiana’s slide guitar master makes
his annual Festival Grant Street spot, with opening help from rock blues
staple Nunez. Grant Street.

Sunday

• 4 bands $4: A SPEAK benefit featuring Ahab!, Ghost Republic, Full Moon
Satellite and The Rah Rahs. Grant Street.

political dark anti-folkster Kimya Dawson. Renaissance.

designer. 7:30 p.m. April 22; 2 p.m. April 23 and 24. Cité Des Arts

Don’t Eat the Brown Boudin
When the streets are chock full of people, parking is gone, it might be a
good time to take a drive in the country. There’s likely no better
destination for both getting away and entertainment than Church Point.
This Saturday and Sunday at Church Point City Park, the city throws the
third annual Cajun Woodstock, a mix of music, poker runs, food and kids
activities. On Saturday, the line-up is Kevin Naquin & The Ossun Playboys
(11 a.m.), Dustin Ray & Cajun Cutt (1:30 p.m.); Donnie Broussard &
Louisiana Stars (4), JC Carriere & Hot Step (6:30), Geno Delafose & French
Rockin’ Boogie (9). On April 24, The Mainsteet band (11 a.m.), Terry & The
Zydeco Bad Boys (1:30 p.m.) and the classic rock band SecondHandSmoke (4).
Admission is $4 a person, $6 a couple and kids under 12 get in free.

Her mom runs the Eunice Depot and Museum and has a weekly column in the
Eunice News. Haven't heard what was the cause of her absense from
singing though... http://bbs.whodat.net/eunice/visit

Gino Delafose holds a free bbq/zydeco fest annually at his Double D
Ranch here in Eunice...

Ate steaks at GJ's Friday night with a childhood friend and a neighbor
(Jen and the kids were at a retreat in Baton Rouge). Band did a great
job with the Swamp Pop selections they played. The Mainstreet Band, I
believe...

I guess they haven't paid their internet web bill:

All the guns hanging from the ceiling and walls would probably scare
Stupikpik and PottyMouth Chad...
